I need to be reminded to take treats gently. I like stuffies. I love flinging them all over the yard. I didn't mind meeting other dogs. I was stiff with cats and will need to be re-tested.

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Good morning, I found your website via google searching. I have a Staffie she is 5 years old brindle and white. I have had her since she was 3 months. I dont have any children and she has been like a child for me. I have traveled with her during this 5 years. I relocated to North Dakota for a job back in 2012 when I first got her. She is very well behaved. We lived in a hotel for almost 18 months due to lack of housing in the remote area in ND that I lived and work. She loves children. I relocated back to this area to assist my sister with my niece and nephew due to her divorce. She just moved on last Tuesday and the house she is ... (Read More)renting does not allow dogs. I was very unprepared for the move because I didnt find out until the day of the move that Chloe wouldn't be allowed.. Since the move on last week I have been searching for a relative or friend who would house her for a few weeks until I find a place of my own. I have had no success. I am hoping your agency would be able to assist me with this problem. I am fearful because of the over crowding at most humane societies that she would not be accepted with the intent of me getting her back. Please let me know if you can help me in any way. I have been keeping her in my truck while I am working and on very hot days like the last few I have been running the AC. When I am not working I am at the park with her of just riding or finding new places to walk and enjoy the day until night where she sleeps in the truck. I usually sleep with her in the truck until 2 or 3 am. I am in desperate need of assistance. I don't want to surrender her. Sincerely Patrick Reed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-17-00017Sugar Pie (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi there, friends and future family! My name is Sugar Pie, and what can I say, I am as sweet as my namesake! If you are looking for a loving, affectionate, little lady who will be by your side like a shadow, you have come to the right place because I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am a stunningly beautiful 1-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, and I am what some people might call a 'pocket-pittie' because I am on the smaller, compact side. You know what that means? I am the perfect size ... (Read More)for cuddle sessions on the couch while we binge some of our favorite TV shows! I have delicious caramel-colored fur, and I have darker hair around my face that looks like I am wearing a mask...I also think my darker chocolate brown hair perfectly highlights my loving eyes and happy smile! But looks aren't everything, and believe me when I say my personality is even better than my pretty face! Fetching Tails Foundation saved me from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where my previous owner surrendered me because they no longer wanted me. I caught the canine flu while at the shelter and was pretty sick, but thankfully my lovely foster parents offered to save my life and give me a nice home in which to rest and recover. I am feeling so much better now that I am over my illness and am ready to find my forever family! My foster home has been so much fun, and I especially enjoy lounging in the grass to catch some sun rays, so I would love to have a fenced yard at my forever home where I can sunbathe to my heart's content. I also enjoy going for walkies in the neighborhood because I get to say hi to all our neighbor friends. I LOVE people, and get a case of the 'wiggle butts' when we have visitors at my foster home. I can't help but go up to everyone with a big smile on my face to say hi. I am very devoted to my family and will be your quiet shadow when you are home; I like to be near my people and keep you company so you always know how loved you are! I would be fine with another dog after some slow, structured introductions, but I would also be perfectly content as your one and only furry friend since I focus all my attention on human affection anyway! I have pretty great house manners, as well, since I am such a people pleaser. I am crate trained and can be left home alone for 6-10 hours while my foster parents go to work with no issues; in fact, I really think of my crate as my personal doggie den and enjoy going in there for naps and to relax with the door open even when my foster parents are home! I am potty trained, but I had a couple accidents in my foster home at first while learning the new schedule and routine. So I might need some patience and guidance the first few days while I figure out the new home; I only want to make you happy so I will figure it out fast! I also know a few commands including sit and stay. I am a very smart girl who aims to please! Are you completely head over heels in love with me yet? I know, I am easy to love! If you think I could be the snuggly, loving, happy-go-lucky girl for you, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and tell them you want some Sugar Pie! As much fun as I am having at my foster home, I really can't wait to find my forever family and start our happily ever after together! XOXO, Sugar Pie If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org or if any questions please email us!     Felon 3 yr old Male Pitty Mix Don't let the name fool you. Felon has a big head and an even bigger heart. He's 3 years old and approximately 60 lbs of muscle. He'd love to sleep next to you, is very chill and thinks he's a lap dog giving kisses any chance he gets! He is playful but very mellow! Felon is good on a leash, knows a few tricks, and is curious about the cat he's currently staying with. He lives with several other dogs in his foster home and does well with them. Rescue Me ID: 17-06-29-00251Sammie (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Warm summer greetings, future friends and family! My name is Sammie, and if you are looking for a pittie princess to be your new devoted companion you are in the right place because I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am a have a beautiful, loving personality that matches my gorgeous good looks. I am a 1-year-old, 55-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix. I am a low-riding, stocky girl (I like to think I am just muscular and in good shape!), and I have rich caramel-colored fur with delicious ... (Read More)white streaks on my face, chest, and paws. And all my friends tell me my best features are my striking hazel eyes and big toothy smile! I am missing an upper canine tooth, so my smile always makes everyone around me laugh and smile, too. My happiness is contagious! I didn't have the best life before I was rescued, but boy am I making up for lost time now! I was brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control as a confiscate case; my previous so-called owner would leave me chained up outside in the bad winter weather so I was taken away from that bad place and found rescue with Fetching Tails Foundation. I love enjoying the good life inside a house with my foster daddy, and show him every day how thankful I am with lots of snuggles and affection. My favorite activity in the whole wide world is stretching out on the couch, and once I know you love me, I will rest my head on your chest while we chill together. But don't think I am a totally lazy girl; I also have bursts of energy and really love to run around and play in a yard so a fenced yard at my forever home is a definite must! I am so happy to greet new friends, and always wear a big toothy grin on my face when my foster daddy's friends come over for a visit. I have been around humans of all ages and have been on my best behavior. I prefer human company to other pets and like all your attention and focus on me, so I would rather be your one and only furry friend, please. I have enough playful energy to keep you entertained, and enough cuddles to keep you warm on chilly evenings, so who needs another dog, right? I can pretty much guarantee I will keep you smiling and laughing when I am ready to play and roll around making silly noises to get you to join in with me, or when I am so tired that I curl up and start sucking on my favorite blankie like a how a human baby sucks a pacifier. I have pretty good house manners, and foster daddy keeps helping me learn more to improve every day. I am potty trained; foster daddy has a doggie door that I can use when I have to go outside to do my business, so if my forever home doesn't have one I might need a little adjustment to the new schedule. I am a smart girl and will figure it out pretty quickly, though! I have also been working on commands including sit and give paw. I get so excited when my foster daddy gets home from work and jump up excitedly to greet him; he is teaching me to sit and greet him politely...I am getting pretty good at it, but I can't stop my excited wiggly tail from wagging while he tells me I am a good girl! I also love walkies, but since I am a strong girl I can be a bit of a puller on the leash and have been working to improve my leash skills. Fetching Tails encourages all adopters to attend training classes with their new pups, and I think we could have a great time at class together because not only is it a great bonding experience, but I could also learn so much more about how to be the best version of myself possible so we have a long, happy life together! Do I sound like I could be the girl for you? As much as I love my foster daddy, I keep hearing how amazing it will be to have a forever family to call my own and hope you think I could be your new BFF. If you are interested in meeting me, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and tell them Sammie is the princess for you! 'Nevy,' as his friends call him, adores people and gets along with other dogs. He and two other dogs were turned in to Chicago Animal Care and Control when their owner could no longer care for them. Neville is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido's. He is currently being fostered in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg. My former owner could no longer keep me because of landlord issues, but thankfully CRISP volunteers were at animal control that day and I got to go home with a loving foster mommy instead of going inside the busy, loud shelter. I am a shy girl, so CACC would have been really scary for me. Instead, I am adjusting to home life with my awesome foster family and I get a second shot at a new life! I was very shy at first, but my foster parents are making everything a fun, positive learning experience for me and I am a confident girl now! I love it when they talk to me and let me know that my life is going to be amazing from now on. I would do well with forever humans who are experienced dog owners, and can continue to work with me on all the fun tricks and commands I have learned. I am a very smart girl and I respond well to positive reinforcement (especially if I get tasty treats as a reward!) when working on my manners and commands. I get to take training classes with my foster parents, and believe me when I say it is my favorite day of the week! It is so much fun to be the smartest girl in class! I have learned commands including sit, stay, lay down, look, touch, swing, and to sit calmly when new friends greet me. I also have good house manners, too. I am potty trained, crate trained, and I do well on walks. Don't I just sound like an amazing catch?! Not only am I a scholar, but I also know how to have a good time. I LOVE going for my walkies with my foster mommy, daddy, and canine brother. We take long, leisurely strolls through the neighborhood and I get to see and smell all the amazing wonders of the world. I also enjoy playtime with my doggie brother. I get along with other dogs with a slow introduction, so if you have a canine friend we can meet up for a doggie date and see if our energy levels are compatible. And not to humble-brag, but I am also cat-friendly, too! Some of my favorite activities include playing zoomies so it would be fun to have a fenced yard in which to run and romp, and I love to cuddle in front of the TV with my family when we are all done playing. I hope my piggy snores don't bug you too much, I get so relaxed and comfortable that I just can't help but fall asleep while snuggling! And did I mention yet how much I love to eat? I have learned so much so fast because I am very treat motivated and will do anything to please my people in exchange for a tasty snack! I am loving and kind, and all I want more than anything in the world is a family who will love me let me be the confident, happy-go-lucky doll I am meant to be! If you treat me with patience and kindness, I will repay you with endless tail wags and pittie kisses! If you think I could be the girl for you, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and let them know Nora sent you! I can't wait to start our forever together!     BULLY BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO VIEW I am approximately 3yrs old. I have had a very rough life! Due to this, I have a hard time trusting and meeting new people. However, once you are in my circle, you are in for life! I love my people! It's sad that I have a better life at a shelter than I did outside. The volunteers have done amazing work with me. I have learned basic commands. I walk well on leash most times, but do get silly sometimes. I can go on walks with other dogs and people, but I need to keep moving. I do not like bikes passing me and will bark. In fact, whenever I am upset, I will bark. I love to ... (Read More)zoom around the yard with my stuffie. I will destroy it, but don't eat the pieces.
