Spice 9 months 50lbs Mixed breed Hi, I'm Spice and I am a very good girl ????! I love all people and dogs. And, I am an expert at sitting on laps & giving hugs. My favorite thing to do is go on walks. My foster Dad thinks I might make a great running companion. Being outside is awesome. I am a perfect lady when it comes to treats & food. I always sit, often without being asked. I do not get upset when another dog takes my bones or tries to eat my food. I am a happy go lucky gal. I am potty trained (my foster Mom is able to let me out often) and I sleep through the night. Because I am still young I need to get plenty of exercise so I can ...     This guy came in as an owner surrender, at a very young age of 4 or so months old, he's already been in 3 homes, all have given up on him for no reason other than they don't want to care for him. He's very sweet, typical adorable puppy who will stay in your arms and lick your face. He's new to our rescue, but as a puppy, there's not a whole lot to note just yet. We will work on his manners and potty training but let's get this guy out before he's yet another adult pit bull in the rescue environment. He's very sweet and very loving, soft and adorable. He is a hit at the Rescue!

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi friends! My name is Jody and I am a smart, sassy pretty lady who is looking for a lifetime of love and fun! I am a 1.5-year-old, 30-pound pittie princess who is available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation. I have gorgeous fur that is as white as snow, but my unique face really highlights my personality! My brindle-colored spot on my face brings attention to my eyes filled with devotion, and my silly ears are pretty much always at attention because I love to listen to you tell me what a good girl I am. And can we ... (Read More)talk about my heart-shaped nose? That pretty much sums me up: I wear my heart on my sleeve, err, face! Fetching Tails Foundation saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where I was brought in as a stray. I much prefer the rescue life to living on the streets, let me tell you! My favorite activity is hanging out in the fenced yard where I can sniff and play with my doggie friends! I love to play with other pups, and think a canine playmate in my forever home would be awesome, too! I tend to get along better with other dogs who are submissive since I think I am royalty and like to be the Queen Bee, so let's maybe go on a doggie date and see if our energy levels are compatible! I can be shy with new people and women, so I would love a forever human who is patient and will continue to work with me on my training and social skills so my confidence can keep blossoming. I think given my play style, I would also do best in a home with no young human kiddos. I am a smart girl who is potty and crate trained, and have learned a lot from the trainer who works with Fetching Tails Foundation. I love to learn (especially when I get a yummy treat or two as a reward!), and FTF will require my adopters to continue lessons with my trainer (and good pal!) so I can adjust well to your home. I think it will be fun to show my forever family everything I have learned so far and continue to learn and bond with them so we can have the best life together! If you think you could give me the home I have always dreamed about, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon! I just can't wait to start our fairy 'tail' happily ever after together! XOXO, Jody ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS: *ADOPTION FEE: $250 *Be at least 21 years of age *Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date) *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment *TRAINING IS REQUIRED!     Diamond is a sweet and lovable, three-year-old, 50-pound, female brindle and white Pit Bull Terrier looking for a loving guardian. Diamond's tail is always happily wagging and she loves to hang out and be pet while she chews on her deer antlers. She is extremely friendly with people and gives plenty of kisses to people who will accept them. She even rolls on her back for belly rubs and she's been excellent with children.     I am a mess. My coat is shabby and my undercarriage is red/inflamed. Despite this, I am a silly and friendly boy. I can be hand shy, but you can touch me all over. I didn't seem to know any commands. I wasn't interested in toys. I probably don't know what they are. I do like treats and take them gently. Please only give me GRAIN FREE food and treats. I don't really know how to be on leash. I was scared of cats when they hissed at me. I liked meeting puppies and littles. I followed treats back into my kennel.

Swifty is full of kisses and tails wags for all the people she meets. And, if you sit on the floor she'll jump right in your lap for a cuddle session. She is very responsive and loves to learn new things. She already knows the commands sit, down, paw, roll-over and stay. She also enjoys road trips! She's joined her foster mom on six-hour road trips with no issue at all. She is housebroken and crate-trained and stays in her crate when her mom leaves the home. Swifty is great with children and has never shown any aggression at all to a human. She loves loves loves people, but she was never socialized with other animals. So, we are looking for a home with no other pets. She'd love a home with a fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood. She is sometimes difficult to walk in congested areas because she can be dog-reactive. But, if you just cross the street when you see another dog approaching, that behavior is not a big deal. She's really a home-body happy to love her family and stick to her own fenced-in yard. Swifty is extremely healthy, spayed, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, and up-to-date on vaccines. American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Howdy! My name is Little Chief, and I am a young dog with a bright, loving personality who is looking for a forever family through Fetching Tails Foundation! If you are looking for a cuddly companion who will shower you with kisses for many years to come, I am the perfect friend for you! I am a 1-year-old 'pittie' mix, and I currently weigh in at around 45 pounds. I think I am the perfect size to keep your lap nice and warm during our snuggle sessions! I have a stunning reddish-brown coat and a smile that goes on for days and ... (Read More)days; I even smile when I sleep! My human friends saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where I was brought with a broken arm. Now that I am all healed up, I am ready for my happily ever after now! I I would love to have a forever home with a fenced yard and human who will buy me lots of fun toys and treats because toys and marrow bones are my favorite possessions in the whole wide world! I make foster mommy laugh because I like to take my tasty marrow bone with me when I go outside to go potty and will hold it in my mouth while I 'do my business.' I also have two canine foster sisters who are big Labs and I love to play with them: I am so happy to see them that I do this adorable pouncy dance and hop to where they are so I can jump on them and we can play! When playtime is over, nothing - and I mean NOTHING - makes me happier than cuddling with my humans as much as possible. I might be a little shy when I meet new people, but once I know and love you, I am your cuddle buddy for life. You name the place, I will be there to join you: Wanna cuddle in bed? I'm there! How 'bout some couch time so we can watch Netflix and chill? I am so game! I just love to curl up with my people everywhere and anywhere so I can give you a sweet kiss and snuggle in as close as possible. So if you are looking for a happy, fun dog who likes to lounge as much as he likes to play, I am the total package! For a young guy, I have great manners, too. I don't mean to brag, but I am already potty trained and crate trained, too. My foster mommy works during the day, and I am fine resting on my own while she is off making money to buy me more treats. She comes home to see me at lunch and take me out for a potty break because, let's be honest, who wouldn't want any excuse to come home and hang out with handsome me for a bit? I am a very smart boy and would love to see how much more I could learn. Fetching Tails Foundation will require my adopters to sign me up for training classes, and I think that will be a great opportunity for me to work on my shyness so I can be the confident dog I know I am meant to be! I hear my doggie friends say how much fun training is and what a great bonding experience it is for a new dog and their human. Plus I want to learn as many tricks and commands as I can so I can be the best Little Chief possible! What are you waiting for? If I sound like I could be the perfect companion for you, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails Foundation soon and tell them you are ready for fun with Little Chief! I can't wait to see what adventures life has planned for us together! Kisses and cuddles, Little Chief ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS: *ADOPTION FEE: $250 *Be at least 21 years of age *Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date) *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment *TRAINING IS REQUIRED!     If your idea of relaxation is staring out at the ocean with a cool drink in your hand, our resident Kaia might be the one for you! Kaia means 'sea' in Hawaiian, and we think this girl as the same tranquility-inducing properties! She's a one year old itty bitty pittie mix who definitely has some small breed terrier in her. She's only 32 pounds, and her temperament are very terrier-like. She has a unique dilute brindle coat and the biggest, saddest, sweetest eyes around. When Kaia knows the rules, she is much happier and less nervous. Emotional pups like Kaia are so eager to love you - if you're her leader, she's happy to be your good little soldier! Because of her intensity, Kaia is a good fit for active adult families only. She does ok with dogs on a case by case basis. No cats please! (Less)

Drake, like his Canadian rap superstar namesake, is quite the hit with the ladies. A handsome, medium-sized shepherd mix, Drake is an affectionate, tolerant, happy-go-lucky dog who only needs one warm look and a goofy smile to make the dames fall over him! Drake was found by some concerned citizens running loose in the woods. He was never reclaimed, but someone else's loss might be your gain! Drake is almost 4 years old, and he's got all those adult dog behaviors on lock - he's housetrained, active but mellows out, and friendly with people big and small after a proper introduction. He's a very vocal player, so it takes a bit of getting used ... (Read More)to when he whines and growls while tossing his toy around. It's all talk, though - Drake wants nothing more than to have a confident, kind human companion to hang out with! He is not comfortable with other dogs and cats, and he can be reactive towards other animals on leash. Because of this, Drake will have to be a solo dog for life, but his good temper and playful spirit are more than enough love for the right family. He'll do best in a smaller home with lots of dog experience and no children. Drake would love someone to be his leader and show him how great life can be outside of the shelter. American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Ever hear the slogan: Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybeline? Hi, I am Maybeline! And I was definitely born with a sweet, tender, sensitive soul and the looks of a supermodel! I am a five-month-old mixed-breed puppy (my momma looked like a lab/shepherd mix) who is looking for a forever home through Fetching Tails Foundation. I currently weigh in at 23 pounds, though I still have some growing to do. And my gorgeous chocolate and licorice-colored brindle pattern isn't a fancy make-up job: I am naturally this beautiful! ... (Read More)Best of all: my loving personality outshines even my stunning good looks! I came to Chicagoland and Fetching Tails Foundation with my littermates from the Tunica Humane Society in Mississippi. Our momma Maria is a well-known stray dog who my friends at the THS have been trying to save from the streets for a couple years. She just won't let the lovely ladies catch her, but always lets her human angels know when she has had a litter and led them to my siblings and me. When my foster momma saw our pictures, she jumped at the chance to help us find forever homes so we made the big journey north when we were old enough! I have really blossomed since joining my foster family; I am more shy than my siblings, but am coming out of my shell a lot thanks to love of my foster parents and the other doggies in their home. My littermates have outgoing personalities, and encourage me to enjoy the world with them. I would love to have a friendly, outgoing dog in my forever home who will continue to nurture me and help me find my confidence. I just relax and am happier when I have a canine companion to follow. I also really love to play with my doggie BFFs; nothing makes me happier than playing chase in the yard with my littermates or the older resident dogs in my foster home, so I would also love to have a fenced yard at my forever home when I can romp and zoom around to my heart's content! I can be a little shy when meeting new people, so I think a calm home with older kids if you have children would be a better fit for me. It takes me a little bit to loosen up when I meet new people, but once I know you are loving and kind, I am the most affectionate little lady who loves to dole out sweet kisses while I receive tender pets! I have pretty wonderful house manners for a young pup, and am learning more all the time! I am working on mastering potty training; I just need consistent reminders and positive reinforcement to get me all the way to 100 percent, and should be there in no time once I learn the routine and schedule of my forever home. I am also crate trained, and do well in my little doggie den while my foster mommy goes to work or runs errands for 3-4 hours at a time. Fetching Tails Foundation requires adopters of young puppies to sign us up for training so we can learn how to be the best version of ourselves, and I think training classes will really help me continue to gain confidence while I learn all the fun tricks and commands I see my older doggie friends doing. More than anything, I just want a loving, patient family who will love me completely and show me that the world we build together is happy and safe. If you think you could be the special person to love me and never let me go, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and tell them beautiful Maybelline is the little lady for you! Puppy kisses and cuddles, Maybeline Please read all adoption requirements and adoption fee's below! *TRAINING IS REQUIRED! THE PUPPY MUST BE SIGNED UP FOR TRAINING AFTER 14 DAYS OF THE ADOPTION!     *MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hello! My name is Nora, and I am a beautiful 3-year-old 'pittie' princess who is looking for a forever home through Fetching Tails Foundation. If I could be a little vain for a second, I just have to point out that I really am a gorgeous lady: I have striking silver and white fur, and I look like I am wearing socks on my feet because of my white paws! My big floppy Minnie Mouse ears perfectly highlight my soulful, loving hazel eyes. I weigh about 50 pounds, and I am a full-grown beauty. My friends from Fetching Tails saved me ... (Read More)through the Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program they co-founded at Chicago Animal Care and Control. My former owner could no longer keep me because of landlord issues, but thankfully CRISP volunteers were at animal control that day and I got to go home with a loving foster mommy instead of going inside the busy, loud shelter. I am a shy girl, so CACC would have been really scary for me. Instead, I am adjusting to home life with my awesome foster family and I get a second shot at a new life! I was very shy at first, but my foster parents are making everything a fun, positive learning experience for me and I am a confident girl now! I love it when they talk to me and let me know that my life is going to be amazing from now on. I would do well with forever humans who are experienced dog owners, and can continue to work with me on all the fun tricks and commands I have learned. I am a very smart girl and I respond well to positive reinforcement (especially if I get tasty treats as a reward!) when working on my manners and commands. I get to take training classes with my foster parents, and believe me when I say it is my favorite day of the week! It is so much fun to be the smartest girl in class! I have learned commands including sit, stay, lay down, look, touch, swing, and to sit calmly when new friends greet me. I also have good house manners, too. I am potty trained, crate trained, and I do well on walks. Don't I just sound like an amazing catch?! Not only am I a scholar, but I also know how to have a good time. I LOVE going for my walkies with my foster mommy, daddy, and canine brother. We take long, leisurely strolls through the neighborhood and I get to see and smell all the amazing wonders of the world. I also enjoy playtime with my doggie brother. I get along with other dogs with a slow introduction, so if you have a canine friend we can meet up for a doggie date and see if our energy levels are compatible. And not to humble-brag, but I am also cat-friendly, too! Some of my favorite activities include playing zoomies so it would be fun to have a fenced yard in which to run and romp, and I love to cuddle in front of the TV with my family when we are all done playing. I hope my piggy snores don't bug you too much, I get so relaxed and comfortable that I just can't help but fall asleep while snuggling! And did I mention yet how much I love to eat? I have learned so much so fast because I am very treat motivated and will do anything to please my people in exchange for a tasty snack! I am loving and kind, and all I want more than anything in the world is a family who will love me let me be the confident, happy-go-lucky doll I am meant to be! If you treat me with patience and kindness, I will repay you with endless tail wags and pittie kisses! If you think I could be the girl for you, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and let them know Nora sent you! I can't wait to start our forever together!
