We've had this sweet boy for a year and a half, now we have a new baby and the land Lord is not allowing us to keep him. He's very territorial, and his bark makes him scarier than he actually is. Once he gets to know you and is comfortable, he is the sweetest guy ever. He loves napping and running around. He'll sleep right next to you all night too. We put not good with kids to keep people weary, but he has been very good with our newborn! We are given two weeks to get him a home so please consider him!

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed

This precious girl is City (City Girl). Our other dogs got out due to a mishap with a rescued pig and we went searching the city for them. Someone left this sweetest thing at the shelter (which was closed for several days) with no food or water. When we found her, she was so emaciated you could see all her ribs from several feet away, her stomach was concave, she was anemic and covered in fleas and ticks. Her umbilicus spot was still healing. She had severe GI issues and was so used to starving that if she didn't immediately engulf her own feces, she guarded it fiercely from everyone because she knew it would be her only meal. ... (Read More)Saddest thing I have seen in a long time of taking in strays. She had food aggression issues at first but now seems to do fine. I think she growled at a cat recently while she was eating, but she has been easily corrected. She is super smart and learns willingly. I put her in the bathroom when leaving on an extended shopping trip and she learned to open the lever knob. She is super eager to please, but is not clingy or fearful. We take her in the trucks, she curls up on the seats and rides. She walks well on a leash, just pulls a little. She can sit, stay and we haven't done much else, but if you want a trick dog, she could be your favorite thing EVER! SOO smart! She has energy, will run with you and play, etc. but she will also just sleep at your feet. We take her to work and the environment is chill, so she literally lays on my feet under my desk. She will greet people as they come in, is neither overly friendly nor lax in guarding. She is good with our pony, other large dogs (70-100+ lbs) and cats. Doesn't chase or bother the neighbors small dogs, chickens, geese or goats. She has been amazing with my very active in your face toddler (we have 5 kids). Why can't we keep her? She has issues with... alpacas. She tries to herd them over and over, and when they fight back, she literally will pen them down. These guys are 160-180#. The horse will kick her, the alpacas will attack her, but she does not give up until she has these guys submissive in the stall. We can't afford to lose an alpaca. I will worry about her forever and need to make sure she goes to an amazing forever home. I have not rehomed any animals that I have decided to keep before. Ever. The only thing I would require is that she be fixed (we don't usually do that until that are a few years old) and that if anything happens and you are unable to keep her, you contact us. (Less)
