American Staffordshire Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

June is an incredibly loving companion pet. She loves all people, but not all animals. She has a high prey drive and I would encourage anyone interested in adopting June to read up on prey drive. She does well with other dogs when introduced in a controlled environment. June cannot go to dog parks though because she is unpredictable with other dogs in an uncontrolled setting. We have to find her a new home because she has gotten lose and attacked two neighbor's dogs, so any prospective adopters must have a fenced yard and be responsible pet owners. We rent our home and cannot put up a fence and in light of the incident with the neighbors ... (Read More)dogs we need to find her a new home. She IS NOT at all people aggressive and is very social wanting to be with her people all the time. She would not do well spending a lot of time by herself alone. (Less)

Zoya Penelope River (deemed so by our 4yo friend, Mckayla) is looking for her Furever home! She's around 2 years old. Pittie mix. Great with other dogs - occasionally growls at first but corrects easily. Very protective of her family. Doesn't mind cats. Great with kids. She's around 40lbs and is a great little girl. No food or toy aggression - believe the initial meeting growl could be related to being on-leash during meetings. If interested in meeting miss Zoya please fill out the adoption app via the following link to be contacted for potential adoption! ... American Staffordshire Terrier    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Titan is a very special boy. He does best with dogs that are smaller than him. He likes to play with cats and is a little overly-interested but corrects immediately when told a stern 'No' or spritzed with a water bottle. If children are in the home they must be over the age of 10 due to a previous traumatic experience he had that caused him to nip a 5 year old. More about that situation can be explained via email to an interested adopter. He was deemed NOT at fault and is a sweet, loving boy. He enjoys long walks on the beach and cuddling on the couch. Squeaky toys are his kryptonite (even though they only last about 5 minutes in his grasp!) ... (Read More)He is crate trained and house broken and is just a great boy overall. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Emma is a three year old American Staffordshire terrier mix, she is about 65 pounds. Last January, Emma was picked up as a stray by the FCDS not long after having puppies. She was rescued from the Franklin County shelter just an hour and half before being euthanized. Emma is scared of other dogs. Emma is fantastic in her kennel, she will let you know when she needs to go outside. She sleeps in her kennel and as long as she has her Kong with peanut butter and cheese all is good in her world. She is also a huge fan of ice cream! Emma will need a patient, loving and a strong handler. She can be stubborn, but she is also very smart. She sits, ...     I am pleased to introduce Juno! This spunky little gal was abandoned in a backyard kennel with her brother. They were left without food and water and were covered head to toe in fleas. People failed them, but they have been quick to trust again. It would be pretty hard to find a pittie puppy cuter than her! Juno is a 7 month old pit mix, probably with a small hound. She came to us at a mere 26 pounds, but has packed on at least 10 pounds and is a very happy and healthy puppy now. She is 99% crate trained and is doing very very well with house training, almost there! Juno is with Every Dog Matters Rescue, and you can fill out an application ...     Rescue fav, Vita Lotus 2 year old staffie girl, absolutely horrible prior life-rescued from a high kill shelter as a skeleton, tail hanging by two small ligaments, who had pretty much given up on life. Look at her now!! Fully vetted-spayed, perfect body weight, fully vaccinated, on all preventatives. LOVES meal time, chewies and treats. Extremely active and pretty high energy. Would need a high fenced or privacy fenced yard for her. That is a must. Initially shy meeting new people. After very little time, she is a total love bug. She is petite, about 44 lbs, good on a leash, house broken, crate trained, loves car rides,. Dog friendly with ... (Read More)the dogs she lives with but needs a slow and patient introduction to new dogs.NO first day, forced meetings for her. Sometimes plays a little rough so current dogs need to be dominant with her because she will submit. Ideally, she would be adopted in an only pet home at this time. She'd be a little much for young children so looking for a single, couple or family with older kids, active so she gets the exercise and playtime she needs. She is very special to this rescue and will only go to the absolute best home we can find for her. (Less)

Animal ID: BellaBella (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella is 5 old American staffordshire terrier, who has the sweetest eyes that you could just look at for days. When she gets really excited she actually snorts like a pig and smiles. Her favorite activities include snoring in her sleep, cuddling, eating and being with her humans. Bella has had a rough year due to no fault of her own. She was given up in North Carolina because the neighbors decided they could use breed discrimination to their advantage... The nerve of them! She was then placed in a foster home down south with 3 other dogs who she soon learned to love. Bella likes other dogs but must have a very slow introduction with an ... (Read More)experienced handler. She would do best in a home either alone or with dogs that are larger than her. Bella is not a fan of kitty cats. She likes older kids and would love nothing more than to get belly rubs and give kisses to them all day. After being brought up from the south by Adopt a Pit, to undergo her heartworm treatment and get her all fixed up, we are happy to report that she is now ready for her Furever home, apply at adoptapitrescue.org under the application tab. Bella is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. (Less)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi my name is Midna. In October of 2016 at age 1%BD my current Mom rescued me with all my baggage. She has worked diligently with me and has made great strides. I am an extremely intelligent girl and a great sleeping buddy. If you are familiar with the breed, most of us do not grow out of the 'puppy stage' until around the age of six. I am still full of a lot of energy. At my Mom's stage in life, she is more suited to the mature dog that is content to lie around. She has done her best to apply the 'tired dog is a happy dog' but she wears out long before I do. She has offered a lot to enrich my life to this point and she believes it is not ... (Read More)fair to me for her to continue as my caregiver. This is not a knee-jerk decision and is extremely heart wrenching for her. I am in need of a person who is physically stronger, lives a more active life and is capable of maintaining and continuing my training. I need someone new who is able to give me a loving and structure environment. I am spayed, micro-chipped, licensed, and current on vaccines. Midna's Mom here. I will be transparent and honest with anyone interested in her and expect them to be the same with me. I will do a home check. Adoption application required before re-homing. I will transport within a reasonable distance. Contact 614.441.3820. (Less)
