Rescue Me ID: 17-08-01-00320Emma (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

STATS: Three years old, weighs around 65 lbs, sparkly white teeth, definitely has some street cred. Personality: Similar to a honey badger, Emma doesn't give a!@#$ unless there is food involved. She is very food motivated! Likes: Butt scratches, ear rubs, belly rubs on occasion, Greenies, cold hot dogs and the occasional Frosty Paw, biting water from the hose is one of her favorite things to do. Dislikes: Cucumbers, Busy Bones, small animals, and birdfeeders (she is actually scared of birdfeeders, but don't tell her that, she thinks they are scared of her). She also doesn't like the vet, but what dog does? Loves: Peanut Butter and ... (Read More)Cheese'|.seriously, this girl does not mess around with her peanut butter and cheese! Her new family will be provided with a 6 month supply of peanut butter courtesy of her foster family. Peanut butter is Emma's favorite. Emma's Background: Emma has had rough start of it. Emma was picked up as a stray by the FCDS not long after having puppies. She was rescued from the shelter in January just an hour and half before being euthanized. Emma suffers from Fear Aggression, which as we have been told is common for strays trying to survive on the streets, especially for a dog that was trying to care for her puppies. With the help of Buckeye K9 and Steffen Baldwin, Emma has made unbelievable improvements and has finally started to relax and trust people. Steffen has offered to provide initial training to Emma and her new family. Ideally, if she were the only dog in the house it would be perfection. Emma has been around other dogs and has actually walked with other dogs, she is getting better during every training session, but a home without dogs would be less stress for all involved. Would be best to have a home without small kiddos too. Emma must have a strong handler. Emma is fantastic in her kennel, she will let you know when she needs to go outside and has not had any accidents in the house. She sleeps in her kennel and as long as she has her Kong and peanut butter all is good in her world. She will need a special family to adopt her, but what she gives back to you is indescribable. She is a lover, she sits, shakes and loves to play with her toys! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-26-00209Veda (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Malnourished, Abused/Neglected

Meet Veda. I rescued Veda on June 14 in South Amherst, Ohio. She was on the side of the road wearing a large metal chain that took up most of the road. Her ribs were visible. I stopped the car and got out and she came right up to me. I put her in the car and I took her to the vet's office where she got a bath, shots, ticks removed, checked for worms (negative), given a broad spectrum antibiotic for any other parasites, and a dose of revolution. She weighed 33 pounds and was estimated to be 2-3 year old female. I brought Veda home where she loved on both of my children continuously for 8 days. She accompanied us to baseball games where she ... (Read More)was good even meeting children strangers. I took her to several pet stores in the area and there were never any interactions with any dogs in the store. Everything went well until the 8th day when she went into heat. She was sleeping on the floor with her back towards my son and lunged at him when he went to pet her. I have had her boarded at the vet's office since June 22. She had a family that was supposed to take her and it fell through. She was spayed on July 10 and she has been taken to Elite K911 for an evaluation where I was told she would be fine if she had someone who could stay on top of her. Someone who can train her or take her to training for obedience and help her get healthy. I cannot take her back in because my kids are too scared now. I have tried many local shelters and I am running out of options. The dog warden has told me if they have to take her they will euthanize her due to her lunging at my son. This girl has a lot of life left, she just needs the right owner, and she will be loyal for life. Please help Veda find a home. (Less)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

moose is a 15 moth old female pitbull, gray color with patches of white, she's a sweet and very loving girl, with a need to protect. She loves her humans, but that's about where it stops, not to friendly with other dogs, chases all the small yard animals, birds, squirrels, rabbits....etc, she does get along with my submissive female boxer, but my male pit and her but heads too often. She does good with small kids, just high energy has led to a few getting knocked over. Im asking the re-homing fee, as I rescued her about 8 months ago, got her fixed, all her shots and vaccines, and just want to make sure she is going to a home that can afford ... (Read More)her. She definitely should be the only dog in the home to prevent any problems. She will come with her collar, walking harness, food and water bowls, and kennel, plus all paperwork from vet~ (Less)
