Rescue Me ID: 18-01-17-00239Chevy (male)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Due to a sudden change to my living situation, I am forced to find my beloved Chevy a new home. I adopted him from the Humane Society in Salem last year. He possesses the sweetest temperament and will enrich your life in many ways. A little about Chevy: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Age: Just under 6 years old. Breed: Hound, Mountain-Cur Mix (probably with American Staffordshire). History: Given to a shelter in Maui by original family. Transported to the Salem Humane Society last year. Medical Problems: Allergic to dust, mites and ... (Read More)mold. I had more lab work done and my vet said he also has a solar induced skin condition; surgery to remove the potential skin issue (little red spots on his stomach) was recommended however I would suggest getting a second opinion prior to doing any surgery. Surgery quote was $682 total. In regards to his allergies, I had custom allergy formula made (about a 4+ month supply left). He also comes with medicated shampoo, foot mousse and ear cleaning solution. His allergies are under control with this medication. He was in pretty poor shape when I adopted him, but with time and love his health has significantly improved. Other: He comes with all the medications listed above as well as an orthopedic dog bed, leash, and collar. Chevy is microchipped so you will need to update his profile with your information. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Schedule: Breakfast: 2 cups of dry salmon and sweet potato (Merricks) dog food with hot water (soak for 5 minutes). Chevy likes to eat fast. Long walk/hike (he can hike up to 15 miles in a day). 2 pumps of allergy serum under his tongue (or close enough). Dinner: 1 1/2 cups of dry salmon and sweet potato food (like breakfast). 2 pumps of allergy serum under his tongue (or close enough). Post dinner walk (usually an hour afterwards). I bathe him 1-2 times a week with the medicated shampoo (a little goes a long ways; the bottle I have will last you a while). Allow the shampoo to soak on his skin for 10 minutes then rise off in luke-warm water (Chevy does not like warm water). Apply foot mousse to his feet as needed. When I adopted him, his feet were very infected so after walking outside, I would soak, dry then apply the mousse to them. His feet are fine now, but I apply the mousse every week to maintain a healthy state. I also clean out his ears 2-3 times a week. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chevy loves other dogs and people of all ages! He is an active 84lb dog and needs a family who is also very active. Chevy and I have created many great memories of hiking around Oregon together. He is not aggressive with food, toys, other dogs, kids, etc. Despite being very active, he will cuddle with you at night, take naps while you are at work and give you puppy kisses when you walk in the front door. He simply wants to be loved and provide love to those around him. Honestly, he is the best dog I have met and it is breaking my heart to do this, but I want what is best for Chevy. Please know, I will conduct a home visit in ensure he is placed in an environment I feel best suits him. Any and all individuals residing in the home are to meet with Chevy and I. Any animals in the home also need to do a 'meet and great' to make sure they all get along. An adoption contract will be written up and signed by myself and the adoptee(s). I will also provide Chevy's current vet's information so you can obtain additional records/copies of records if you so desire. If you are on a lease, I require proof from the management company or landlord that you are allowed to have a dog like Chevy in your home. There is an adoption fee of $100 to avoid those who are looking for a 'cheap' pet. Chevy does have medical issues and they will require a degree of financial assistance as well as your time and love.     Sweet Giselle is such a heartbreaker. She is a favorite at all of our adoption events, of the fosters, and volunteers of the rescue. Giselle has a sad sad past but meeting her you would never know that. She is AMAZING with kids, holy cow we have not seen a dog with more patience and kids seem to love her as well. Giselle loves to go on walks, loves to be around people, and loves good ol' belly rubs. Most pass her by because she does have some cosmetic issues with her skin. She has a thyroid issue that requires medication ($30.00) a month and needs baths more than most dogs. But trust us she is worth it! She tolerates other dogs, but would ...     Hi, Hi, Hiiiiii.... I'm Oso and I am a super happy, sweet, bouncy boy. I love being with my people and I will follow you around and watch TV with you just like a little lapdog. I have been living with lots of dogs, while rehabilitating with my foster angel I have seen 30 dogs pass through, all on their way to their forever home. I liked all of them, though I do have to say I prefer bigger dogs to the little ones, so please, none of those pesky smaller dogs. I now want my own forever home, I love going for walks and to classes with my foster angel, Oh, and I like to dress up for the holidays, and Christmas is coming.... Just saying. So if ... Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Boonies, and I'm looking for a new home. My mom and dad are having a baby and I'd prefer to go to a home without little kids. It's not that I don't like little kids I just can't play with them because they're too small for me they just bounce right off. Teenagers and full grown humans are my favorite! While I love playing with my big brother bugsy, and a couple other dogs I already know, I have a hard time making new friends so my future parents are going to have to be patient with me and have a plan for introducing me to dogs I'm going to be around a lot. If you have a big yard for me to sniff and chase squirrels in, and ... (Read More)maybe a sunny warm spot for me to lay (I love to sunbathe!), I'd love to be yours! My talents include..... Licking your face, blanket cuddles, practical jokes, yawning and wining cutely, sitting, staying, paw, rolling over, fetching, going potty outside, etc, I'll keep the squirrels away and I'll even keep your kitchen floors clean! I need a lot of love so I'd prefer to be the only animal, that way I can devote all my love to you!! nice meeting you! Love Boonies (Less)

Meet Betty. She is one and a half years old. Betty is an amazing runner and loves to chase balls and bring them back right away! A perfect day for Betty includes chasing the ball at a soccer field, running around 1000 acres and chasing sticks, and working on tricks and training. She's extremely intelligent and loves to learn. She is definitely a working dog. Betty prefers not to be left home alone all day or to share a home with kitties or children. She loves to work and be busy and if your family is looking for a buddy you can teach tricks to and take to the river, then Betty might be the perfect pup! The ideal adopters would be a couple ...     May is a quiet, sweet girl. She initially seems to like men best but definitely warms up to ladies after a week or so. She will take a couple of weeks to feel secure and comfortable but once she lets her guard down, she becomes a very playful, funny dog. She's good with other dogs with proper intro, does keep to herself at different parts of the day but also loves playing with her foster sisters. 'May' - Lab/Shepherd female Mix (looks like some bully in there also) This very pretty gal came to us as a stray so we estimate her age to be 2 years old, she weighs 51.9 lbs. May is very sweet, curious, loves to be out in our exercise yard! Runs around with glee when she's out there. She is beautiful. Cute, cute dog! Has the cutest, kissable face!     Born 10/31/16 - bully/shep mix. Currently in foster in California, but can be adopted in Oregon or Washington. Fixed, chipped, up to date on vaccinations. Smart puppy. She has a mild case of mange (non contagious) which is being treated. This is what her foster reports about her: In general she is doing well, happy and playful. We have been making progress on the house training and command training. She is going in the house less and also asks to go out, but not every time yet. We still have a few accidents a day. American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Malnourished,
 Abused/Neglected, Fearful/Anxious

https://www.missgabriel.org/noel.html https://www.facebook.com/MrNoel2011 Meet Mr Noel. He has been here at MGF for 2 years. He would be great for a dog trainer or an experienced handler of abused dogs. He truly is a loving companion. He is now a 6 years young Beagle/American Staffordshire Terrier/Chow Chow/Golden Retriever mix whose interests include walking, hiking, going for a drive and collecting treasures. This boy is house trained, is leashed trained, has basic commands down, he gets along with adults he has learned to trust. He likes to sleep near his humans. Noel likes to be left alone when he's eating, he guards his treasures in ... (Read More)his room and he does NOT like to be picked up. X-rays show his body being battered starting as early as 5-10 months old (broken bones). He does not like to be stared at with people he does not trust. It is best for strangers to ignore him at first. Trust takes time for him. Due to this he will need an adult only family who knows how to build trust with an abused dog. Willing to give him the time he needs to develop trust. He will trust again; it takes time and patience. He loves to cuddle with me in bed as long as he feels safe and I am not too grabby. He is even learning to be playful and silly as his videos on YouTube show. Noel will be happiest when he can be a part of his person's activities. His family will need to be sure that Noel feels like he is part of a close knit group. He is neutered; micro chipped, vaccinated, licensed and has a complete health workup. Due to Noels lifetime of abuse he has fear triggers; so him being an only pet and with a family without children would be best. He will go home with his new family with all his medical records and DNA test results. Are you looking to add a shy, willing to learn to trust, handsome, smart boy to your family? What about a social companion ready for any adventure with you? Come see Mr Noel! He is available for adoption through the Miss Gabriel Foundation. A $150 Adoption fee applies. This includes: Spay/Neuter Microchip Dog License Current All Vaccinations Current Heart Worm Prevention Current Flea/Tick Prevention Current De-wormed DNA Test Result Package Complimentary Wellness Exam Complimentary Dog Training Lesson (Less)
